Update - 3/21/95

We have experienced several problems lately and I wanted
to let you know briefly what is going on. While I was
away last week at meetings in Menlo Park and UNAVCO, we
had an unusually bad week. Thanks to Bill Curtis and
Daryl Baisley at our Pasadena office and to Jeff Behr
at SOPAC for their assistance.

At HOLC, the power and phone lines were severely damaged
during high winds last week. Jeff Behr is assisting in
setting up temporary data retrieval. We are exploring
options to repair the AC/phone lines to the site. It
is going to be expensive to make the repairs. The site
will be off-line for some time, but we'll try to keep
getting data (at reduced sampling rate).

At BRAN, the antenna cable was cut by vandals last Tues.
We are in the process of making repairs more permanent
and making the site more tamper-resistant.

At LONG, the receiver had un-recoverable problems, so
that receiver was sent to Ashtech for repairs and has not
yet been put back in service at the site.

At CHIL, we had a power outage and lost some data, but
the station is now working.

Last week's maintenance problems will probably cost
about $5000 all together... (mainly because we may need
to replace a 1500' run of AC/phone lines at HOLC).
