Woodworth, and G.Mitchum January 15, 2007 Dear Colleagues, herewith we would like to submit the following +-------------------------------------------------------------+ | Call for Proposals to Establish and Host the | | International Altimetry Service Integration Office (IAS-IO) | +-------------------------------------------------------------+ The IAS-IO shall - provide a platform (and single point of contact) for general information on satellite altimetry and its applications; - communicate with, and interface to, altimeter mission data providers, centres which process, archive, and analyse altimeter data, and other related services and organizations; - promote satellite altimetry as a core element of Global Earth Observing Systems (GEOS); and - help compile and analyse data, and respond to altimeter user requirements.
