Now, for those of you who responded to IGSMail 5157 (http://igscb.jpl.nasa.gov/mail/igsmail/2005/msg00079.html) indicating you have a receiver capable of tracking L2C and would like to participate in the demonstration, I have some additional information: 1. Thank you for your interest! 2. For Trimble NetRS users, I have the following information: a. There is no minimum firmware to track L2C, but at least 1.1-2 is recommended for a variety of other reasons. b. You must enable "L2C Tracking" under "Receiver Configuration." 3. For teqc RINEX translation, you must use version 2005Jul27 or newer, and the +C2 option. See http://www.unavco.org/facility/software/teqc/log.html 4. RINEX version 2.11, which is required for L2C support, must NOT be submitted to the ordinary IGS data areas because it is still a draft version. If your receiver is a regular IGS station, create RINEX version 2.10 without L2C separately, and submit it as you have been. 5. RINEX v2.11 with L2C will be published under a special "l2ctest" area at CDDIS. a. If your station is not a regular IGS station, think of a 4-char code for your site and check http://sopac.ucsd.edu/scripts/checkSiteID.cgi to make sure it is not taken by a permanent site. Using a 4-char code for the purpose of this demonstration does not necessarily "reserve" it as a permanent station code. b. If you already submit to CDDIS, create a separate subdirectory for the RINEX v2.11 data, and inform Carey.Noll@nasa.gov what you have named it and what sites you will be submitting. c. If you do not already submit to CDDIS, contact Carey.Noll@nasa.gov for submission instructions. d. You can submit hourly data as well as daily if you are able. Since I have no information about when the signal might come, I suggest getting ready as soon as possible! Please let me know if you have additional questions. Best regards, Angie p.s. If you did not respond before, but are interested to participate, just send me a reply! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Angelyn W.
