Dow Dear Colleagues, I would like to inform you of the results of the election which has just been completed. Four candidates had kindly agreed to stand in the election, which was organised by an Election Committee consisting of Norman Beck (Chair), Gerd Gendt (Analysis Centre Coordinator ACC) and Robert Weber (previous ACC). The candidates were: Peng Fang Urs Hugentobler Markus Rothacher Jim Zumberge All candidates received strong support from the Associate Members. The results (announced in detail to the Associate Members by Norman Beck on 27 November) were that Markus Rothacher was elected and that there was a tie between Peng Fang and Jim Zumberge for the second position. The IGS Governing Board, according to its Terms of Reference, has resolved this tie in favour of Jim Zumberge. Markus Rothacher and Jim Zumberge will therefore continue for a second term to represent the Analysis Centres in the Governing Board (along with Jim Ray). I would like to sincerely thank all four candidates, who presented the voters with no easy choice through the high level of competence they represent. I also thank the Election Committtee for carrying out their quite onerous task with great efficiency. Best regards, John M. Dow.
