Sensitivity: Subject: [IGSMAIL-4310]: Leica IGS Trade-In Offer for Z-XII Receivers To: igsmail@igscb.jpl.nasa.gov Message-ID: From: James.Stowell@leicaus.com Date: Tue, 18 Mar 2003 15:25:23 -0500 Sender: owner-igsmail Precedence: bulk ****************************************************************************** IGS Electronic Mail 18 Mar 12:39:00 PST 2003 Message Number 4310 ****************************************************************************** Author: James Stowell Dear IGS Colleagues, It is widely recognized that the IGS network contains many old GPS receivers that must soon be replaced. In this message Leica would like to announce a trade-in program that will facilitate this process by allowing IGS member institutions to replace aging GPS receivers with the option of leaving the original choke ring antennas in place, thereby ensuring minimal impact on the geodetic time series. (There is nothing wrong with most of the antennas). As you may know, Leica produces a "Plug and Play" IGS RS500 GPS Receiver "Package" for direct replacement of the Ashtech Z-XII, the Ashtech micro-Z and the AOA TurboRogue receivers. The RS500 is a modern, low noise receiver that tracks almost perfectly even in the presence of strong ionospheric disturbances and can tolerate a wide range of ambient temperatures (see, for example, the GPS World article, Jan 2003, page 60, on their use, 2001 & 2002, in West Antarctica). The RS500 comes with a comprehensive 'LRU' warranty for a full twelve months. Please refer to our web site at www.leica-geosystems.com for detailed product information. For more details concerning this offer, please contact your local Leica Geosystems office. Trade-in Terms You may trade-in any working Ashtech or AOA receiver ( but we don't require the original antenna) You will receive a trade-in credit of $5,500. US (for Asia & Americas) and EUR5,500 (for Europe) for each Ashtech/AOA receiver against the purchase price of a new Leica RS500 IGS Ref Sta KIT (P/N 734701) receiver. IGS members can trade-in as many receivers as they desire for a like number of RS500 IGS Kit receivers. This offer will be effective from February 1st to October 31, 2003. This offer may not be combined with any other promotional offer or discount. Prices do not include taxes, export/import tariffs, brokerage fees, handling charges, or any fees associated with the sale and/or shipment of goods. Products and technical data, including software, are subject to the export regulations of the U.S. Government. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or need any additional information.
