Kunze Dear IGS Colleagues, As you may know, production of the Ashtech Z-XII receiver has ended some time ago. Thales Navigation will support the last firmware release and continue to offer repair services for the Z-XII for as long as replacement parts are available, with end-of-life estimated to occur in October 2004. We highly value the loyalty of our customers to our company and products. Thus, we are prepared to ease the transition from the Z-XII to our newest geodetic-quality reference receiver designed for the age of the internet and packet-switched data networks. For a limited time Thales Navigation is offering the opportunity to trade-in low-power Z-12 receivers for credit toward the purchase of the world's first internet-enabled reference receiver, the Ashtech iCGRS. Please refer to our web site at www.thalesnavigation.com for detailed product information and other corporate news. For more details concerning this offer, please contact your local Thales Navigation office or representative. You can find IGS sites with Ashtech Micro-Z receivers installed, which uses the same GPS engine as the iCGRS, at ftp://igscb.jpl.nasa.gov/pub/station/general/logsum.txt (e.g. alrt, areq, brew, fair, graz, guao, holm, hyde, invk, jama, kokb, lroc, nain, qaq1, sach, suth, thu3, tow2), or go directly to station pages, for example http://igscb.jpl.nasa.gov/network/site/alrt.html (substitute other site ID's where 'alrt' appears). If your GPS receiver does not meet the criteria outlined below, contact your local Thales Navigation office or representative for other offers that may apply to you. Trade-in Terms You may trade-in any Ashtech® Z-12 receiver that meets the following criteria: o The receiver has a part number that begins 700845-XX. o The receiver is in working order. o The housing shows no signs of damage beyond reasonable wear and tear. Thales Navigation determination whether the criteria have been met shall be final. You will receive a trade-in credit of $4,500 (for Asia & Americas) and EUR4,500 (for Europe) for each qualified Z-12 receiver against the purchase price of a new Thales Navigation iCGRS receiver. Only one trade-in credit may be applied to a single iCGRS receiver. You may trade-in any number of qualified Z-12 receivers for a like number of iCGRS receivers. This offer will be effective from February 1st to December 31, 2003 and may be terminated at any time before December 31, 2003. This offer may not be combined with any other promotional offer or discount. All prices, specifications, and availability of iCGRS receivers are subject to change without notice. Prices do not include taxes, export/import tariffs, brokerage fees, handling charges, or any fees associated with the sale and/or shipment of goods. Products and technical data, including software, are subject to the export regulations of the U.S. Government. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions or need any additional information. Best regards, Hans J. Kunze (Dipl.-Ing.
