Data Centers may provide mixed GPS/GLONASS RINEX files in the IGS directories beginning June 11. If you are not certain your software can smoothly handle GLONASS data, please visit http://igscb.jpl.nasa.gov/newformats.html for an example file to try, and a link to one way of producing a GPS-only RINEX file from a mixed one, should you find that necessary. If you require more information on this subject please let us know. The new format GPS site logs are presently in ftp://igscb.jpl.nasa.gov/pub/station/newformatlogs/ The SINEX template made from them is in ftp://igscb.jpl.nasa.gov/pub/station/general/draft.igs.snx The errors found are in ftp://igscb.jpl.nasa.gov/pub/station/general/draft.igs.snx.err Resolution of these few remaining questions is being actively pursued. I have carefully compared the draft.igs.snx vs. today's igs.snx file and I believe users will find the version based on the new site logs of even higher quality. The IGLOS logs received to date are in ftp://igscb.jpl.nasa.gov/pub/station/iglos_log_submissions The SINEX template made from them is in ftp://igscb.jpl.nasa.gov/pub/station/general/iglos.snx The errors found are in ftp://igscb.jpl.nasa.gov/pub/station/general/iglos.snx.err This IGLOS error file is larger than I had hoped; however some important clarification of equipment model names is expected tomorrow. This will resolve most of the issues. To summarize what happens tomorrow: The logs in ftp://igscb.jpl.nasa.gov/pub/station/newformatlogs/ and the logs with no serious errors in ftp://igscb.jpl.nasa.gov/pub/station/iglos_log_submissions become the official IGS logs in ftp://igscb.jpl.nasa.gov/pub/station/log/ The SINEX template ftp://igscb.jpl.nasa.gov/pub/station/igs.snx becomes essentially a combination of ftp://igscb.jpl.nasa.gov/pub/station/general/draft.igs.snx and ftp://igscb.jpl.nasa.gov/pub/station/general/iglos.snx Things like maps, station lists, etc. begin to be based on the new log set. Mixed GPS/GLONASS RINEX data may start to appear in IGS directories anytime after tomorrow. Monitoring of the site log set and collaboration with the site operators to continually improve the quality and clarity of the information (of course) continues. Site operators who have kindly responded with updated logs and answers to questions deserve many thanks, as always! I know many of you are continuing to review the converted logs against your own archived information over time, and we'll try to assist with any additions, clarifications, or questions that arise. Analysts and users deserve thanks in advance as well, because this change will probably require some extra attention. If you find any problem that we don't seem to be resolving, please don't hesitate to email igscb@igscb.jpl.nasa.gov to inform us.
