Subject: IGS 1998 Technical Report, Final Call for Submissions

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is time to send your final submissions to the IGS 1998 Technical
Reports! There are a number of contributions still 'at large'. We would
like to know if those on the proposed Table of Contents who have _not_ yet
submitted a brief article intend to do so. All final papers and
submissions are due, Friday 12 November, next week. This is a hard cut-off
which will enable us to finalize the technical reports by December.

Please remember that just the highlights of 1998 be summarized, anything
that has been previously reported need not be repeated. Authors not listed
should feel free to contribute to items in the Table of Contents or to
others.

If you link through the IGS website you can find the table of contents with
the papers already submitted shown in red:

http://techinfo.jpl.nasa.gov/igs/files/98_Technical_Reports/proposed_toc.html

We will prepare to publish what we have after the due date next week.

NOTE FOR PLANNING: The call of 1999 Annual and Technical Reports Series
will be issued in Mid-January 2000. This year they were done sequentially.
While the 1998 Annual Report and Directory were available in June 1999, we
are still finalizing the 1998 Technical Reports. It is our intent to have
both available earlier next year and process them simultaneously.

Many thanks to those who have already submitted their contribution!

With best regards,

Ruth

		INSTRUCTIONS AND SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

We are in the process of upgrading the server for the IGS Website and
therefore will refine/clarify details for submitting files for the 1998
Technical Reports in the very near future. Preliminary instructions and
submission guidelines (along with a sample submission) outlining the
preparation of author-produced manuscripts may be obtained via the World
Wide Web at:

       http://igscb.jpl.nasa.gov/

See 'Submission Guidelines' at the bottom of the homepage. The procedure
will be similar to last year and a number of you are familiar with this
process. We are working to improve the interface. Please remember that all
documents will be combined into a single styled volume in traditional IGS
format. Any questions can be addressed to Ken Gowey (kgowey@jpl.nasa.gov).

If you do not have access and would like a copy of the guidelines sent
via email or carrier mail, please contact Ken Gowey at (818) 354-4532
(kgowey@jpl.nasa.gov).

Your cooperation is greatly appreciated (in advance) and we look forward to
working with you on this project. Please remember the submission deadline
is July 31, 1999!

PS:
The combined distribution lists for this message may include people more
than once -- apologies if you receive duplicate messages.
