The CHAMP Project Management would like to make clear that the NASA/JPL-provided GPS onboard software has still known deficiencies and bugs, even after a great number of software changes and uploads which effect the quality and quantity of a routine GPS data flow for POD, atmospheric and ionospheric occultations. An expected date for the full performance of the GPS flight receiver software can presently not be provided. The level-1 GPS data will be made available through the CHAMP ISDC immediately after data decoding. For details about the content and the availability of the data see the product description pages of the CHAMP ISDC at: http://isdc.gfz-potsdam.de/champ/ Best regards, Christoph Reigber, CHAMP project director Hermann Luehr, CHAMP operations manager Peter Schwintzer, CHAMP science data manager -- Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing.
