 On behalf of Dr Judah Levine, Chairman of the CCTF Sub-group on GPS and =
GLONASS=20
 Time Transfer Standards (CGGTTS), I am writing to announce an open forum=
 on GPS=20
 and GLONASS standardization organized  by the CGGTTS to be held on 6 Dec=
ember=20
 1999 from 19h00 to 21h00, prior to the PTTI'99 Conference at the Laguna =
Cliffs=20
 Marriott Hotel, Dana Point, California. Information about the room locat=
ion will=20
 be displayed at the hotel.
=20
 The CGGTTS has the challenge of preparing for June 2000 a report on soft=
ware,=20
 hardware and calibration standards, as requested by CCTF Recommendation =
S 4=20
 (1999). The meeting will be fully dedicated to this issue.=20
=20
 The proposed topics for discussion include:
=20
 1) Possible improvements of CGGTTS standard software,
 2) Preparation of hardware standards for time receivers,
    - trigger level,
    - filters,
    ...
 3) Possible extension of CGGTTS standard format to WAAS and EGNOS,
 4) Most recent time transfer standard studies related to CGGTTS activiti=
es,
    - sensitivity of hardware to environmental conditions,
    - multi-system and multi-channel experimentations,
    - calibrations,
    ...
=20
 Other suggestions are welcome. They can be send to the Secretary (addres=
s given=20
 below).
=20
 As we expect many subjects to be included in the agenda, we remind contr=
ibutors
 that the time devoted to each presentation will be short, usually=20
 just 5 minutes per each speaker. We therefore strongly encourage contrib=
utors=20
 to prepare a document in advance, describing the main points to be cover=
ed. This=20
 document can be sent also to the Secretary, either electronically or in =
hard-
 copy form. Ideally, it should be available before the meeting, so that i=
t can be=20
 studied before the meeting begins.=20

 We anticipate a very valuable meeting which will be of great assistance =
to the=20
 CGGTTS.
