D R A F T SINEX_TRO - Solution (Software/technique) INdependent EXchange Format for combination of TROpospheric estimates Version 0.01 (March 01, 1997) 1. INTRODUCTION For the new IGS product - the series of total zenith path delay transformed to precipitable water vapor - a format must be defined. This format should be used on the one hand by the IGS Analysis Centers to submit their results for the combination and on the other hand for the distribution of the combined products. The files should have a simple but flexible structure , so that the Anlysis Centers can straightforward reformat their internal tropospheric estimates as well as the customers can easily read and handle the products. The proposed format is based on the SINEX Format. A number of blocks are taken directly from SINEX 1.00, namely: FILE/REFERENCE SITE/ECCENTRICITY SITE/ID SITE/ANTENNA SITE/RECEIVER SITE/GPS_PHASE_CENTER Some other blocks are defined within this document. 2. PHILOSOPHY Submission ---------- The Analysis Centers should submit daily files containing the estimated total zenith path delay parameters from all global sites. Only those information should be given which is directly connected with the troposphere estimates, the corresponding blocks are FILE/REFERENCE TROP/DESCRIPTION (Mandatory) TROP/STA_COORDINATES (Mandatory) TROP/SOLUTION (Mandatory) All other blocks of interest for the combination product, which describe the site relevant parameters, will be taken from the weekly SINEX-product for the station coordinates and earth rotation parameters. By this way we can avoid redundancy for information which are constant within a week. The meteorological surface data are taken directly from the Global Data Centers and should be in RINEX-2-Format. The files are named: cccwwwwd.tro e.g. gfz08901.tro cccwwww7.snx gfz08907.snx ssssdddv.yym algo3660.96m Combination Product ------------------- For the customer, who is interested in e.g. time series of water vapor at a site, it is convenient to have a product with separate files for each site. Therefore the product will be a weekly file for each site. Weekly files were preferred (instead of daily) to save disc storage by storing those information only once which normally is not varying from day to day. The file contains the following blocks: FILE/REFERENCE TROP/DESCRIPTION SITE/ID TROP/STA_COORDINATES SITE/RECEIVER CENTERS/INFO_SOLUTION SITE/ECCENTRICITY CENTERS/INFO_MODEL SITE/ANTENNA TROP/SOLUTION SITE/GPS_PHASE_CENTER If there are no meteorological surface data so that the zenith path delay values can not be converted into precipitable water vapor then the file should have a different name indicating this fact. The files are named: sssswwww.eee e.g. algo0890.zpd for zenith path delay product algo0890.tro for water vapor product A P P E N D I X I S I N E X _ T R O V E R S I O N 0 . 0 1 D E T A I L F O R M A T D E S C R I P T I O N 1.
